The acient woods of もののけ姫 (Mononoke Hime)

Ancient woods.
Yakushima was the last stop in this trip and also my personal favorite place of Japan.
Yakushima is an island in the south of Kyushu (the western most of the four main islands of Japan) and has unique nature to offer. I’ve never seen woods like this before - but it is really hard to describe, so I suggest you look at the pictures.
The woods on this island served as model for the film Hime Mononke (Princess Monoke) - a Ghibli film. It is an animation and I can really recommend it. I like it a lot. It’s about the conflict between humans and nature.
